Sara has been teaching in various ways for 15+ years and has loved being a part of musical theater since she was a teenager. After graduating from the University of Illinois in Music Education in 2010, she was a band director for many years before deciding to stay home with her 4 kids and homeschool. She currently teaches private clarinet and piano lessons, tutors a homeschooling class of 5-8 year olds, co-leads a nature group, and is excited to be jumping in as a new teacher for Tune Town! Sara's favorite theater experiences have been directing "The Sound of Music" at Newton Community High School in 2012 and directing the pit orchestra for "Into the Woods" at Zion-Benton Township High School in 2023. She has been involved with CYT for the past 3 years and is extremely grateful for this encouraging Christian arts community.
