Description

Can you think on your feet? Are you good at coming up with ideas off the top of your head? Have you ever watched Whose Line is it Anyway? Do you enjoy improvising as an actor? Try your hand at musical improv. It's the same as improv -- only with Music! You don't have to be a good singer to do well at musical improv. You just need a positive attitude and be willing to try new things. You will participate in games, exercises, activities, etc. -- all set to music. You will also learn how to think better "off the cuff". This unscripted acting format isa blast for anyone to do, and you'll have so much fun, too!

Teacher:

Brett Houdek

Brett Houdek was born, raised, and currently resides in Racine, Wisconsin. He grew up performing in musicals at school, church, and the community theater, Racine Theatre Guild. A middle-school teacher by day, Brett continues to audition, perform, and act whenever possible. A professional actor, he studied at Second City in Chicago, IL, and with Maureen Cashin Bolog at Actor’s Craft in Kenosha, WI. Brett is an AMTC (Actors, Models, & Talent for Christ) alum, which inspired him to become a film actor. An active member of the WGTD 91.1 Players in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Brett has performed dozens of live radio dramas since 2013. Brett has also performed in numerous murder mysteries (dinner theatre) throughout southeastern Wisconsin with a professional acting troupe. These performances have allowed him to practice and demonstrate his improvisational skills. In addition to live performances, Brett has acted in numerous film projects. In 2016, he was nominated for Best Actor at an Ohio film festival, one of the largest in the country. He co-starred in 2017's faith-based film The UnMiracle with Kevin Sorbo and Stephen Baldwin. Brett is also an experienced voice actor. He provided the voice of “RD,” a robot, in several episodes of The Brinkman Adventures, a faith-based, family audio drama. He also narrated the Diddly Dooper children’s book series for a UK author on Amazon. Most recently, Brett was cast in two full-length features and three short films in 2022. He is currently earning his master's degree in Script and Screenwriting at Regent University, a Christian college. He will graduate with an MFA in December 2023.
