Description

Get ready to dive into a modern telling of the classic Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice, through the lens of the award-winning musical "Hadestown". In this class, students will learn character development, vocal techniques, and how to become a true storyteller all while taking center stage. You won't want to miss the opportunity to board the train to Hadestown.

Teacher:

Amanda Franz

Amanda is a CYT Milwaukee alum, having performed in 20 shows and competed on their Milwaukee Improv, Project Voice, and Project Dance teams. Amanda is spirited and creative, and focuses on building character on and off the stage for her students as they grow into young adults, showing care and spreading wisdom both professionally and personally.

Teacher:

Leanna Cavender

Leanna will be going into her 5th year of teaching with CYT and has been cheering on performances from the audience for much, much longer! You might also recognize her face from the Tech Team. She has a passion for theater and teaching, which is what brought her here. As a former English teacher, she loves Drama Classes and getting creative. Star Wars Shakespeare, Disney on Broadway and Lip Sync Battle are just a few classes that have blended her interests in the past - always rousing ideas for new ones too! When she's not working, teaching or teching you might find her on an adventure with her 3 children and husband, reading a book, drinking more coffee or attempting to run off to NYC to see a show.
