Description

If you want to get a speaking part in a show, you've got to be heard! In this class, students will work on their  speaking voice for the stage. The class will focus on teaching your student how to use their voice properly,  increase their volume, and diction, improve tone and voice quality, and how to interpret a character by using  their voice. Students will get plenty of practice speaking, reading scripts, and learning mini-monologues.

Teacher:

Laura Nothnagel

Laura has enjoyed roles at CYT for a decade, as an involved parent and cheerleader to all students, makeup fairy godmother, and director. Laura is a lover of theatre, education, and the Lord. Her education is in... education, earning her Bachelors of Science and teaching license at Rockford University in 2001, and teaching in formal and informal capacities since. She has served as a worship leader and vocalist for the last decade for different church venues, charities, and for fun. She enjoys making and listening to music, reading, running, and all things sparkly. What truly lights her up is helping students uncover their unique, God-given talents, polish them up until they shine, and then confidently share those incredible gifts with the world.
