Description

Because of Winn-Dixie is about a young girl, Opal, who is lonely and feels abandoned by her mother. She befriends a dog, Winn-Dixie, and he helps her form more new friendships. In the end, Opal is no longer sad and becomes happy with her life the way it is. Because of Winn-Dixie is, in many ways, a study in both the negative consequences of prejudging others and what can happen when people approach others with curiosity, openness, and compassion.
