Description

Tap dance is a great way to learn skills like body control, balance, and rhythm! Tap dance numbers are often featured in rousing ensemble numbers in musicals. Tap can be challenging both physically and mentally but is always tons of fun! In Tap, you’ll execute choreography featuring syncopated rhythmic combinations including time steps.
*Students are required to have tap shoes for the duration of the class and to be used during the showcase performance.*

Michael Holstine

My name is Michael Holstine. I am an accountant that loves to perform on stage. I grew up in Aurora and participated in the theater and choir programs at West Aurora High School. My church home is Christ Community Church. My performance skills include 13+ years of tap dancing lessons as well as performing in multiple musicals and plays throughout school. My latest performance was in a musical called Pippin with a local theater organization called City of Lights Theatre. I am so excited to join CYT this fall and share the joy of tap dancing!
