Description:

CYT Chicago: Milwaukee Presents...

Jump back in time with this rainstorm of a musical!  Set in the 1920s when silent movies filled the cinemas, follow Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont, the hottest item in front of the cameras. You’ll laugh till you cry as we learn things aren't always as they appear on the big screen!  Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career as silent films make way for "talking pictures." Will up and coming actress Kathy Selden get her big break or will she be stuck as the uncredited voice of Miss Lamont? Join us on the journey and watch what happens when groundbreaking technology of that time unfolds bringing excitement and challenges along the way!

To all who auditioned for  Singin ’ in the Rain - WOW Milwaukee!! Thank you for the hard work and energy you put into your auditions.  Casting is always a difficult puzzle AND the energy, heart and versatility you brought to this weekend made for an extra challenge for us.  However - watching you all perform in your "minute to shine" only makes us even MORE excited to tell this story TOGETHER with you!

We realize the casting process is often accompanied by both great joy and excitement, as well as frustration, disappointment, and even some heartbreak.  We all understand what it feels like to be disappointed or what it feels like to not be cast in the role we had hoped for.  Each of us has been there, multiple times.  So, please know this… it is ok to be sad. We are sad too.  Our hope and prayer is that you recover quickly and when you are ready, can be happy for those who are happy. Donald O'Connor [movie actor who played Cosmo]  is quoted as saying "Dancing is so wonderful. Once they start the music, your whole day, if it's been rotten, seems to melt away. You get carried away in the tune that you're moving to. It's a marvelous catharsis, to be able to get on top and tap dance."   And we have a lot of dancing planned -Well, for everyone but R.F. Simpson, Dexter and Lina.

We are glad that EACH OF YOU is going to be in SITR -Together God has called you to do this show at this time.  If you are one of those who are excited, GREAT!!!  We’re excited too!  We hope and pray that your excitement grows and becomes contagious to those around you throughout this entire show process!!!

Our Show Verse this session will be Romans 15:5-7 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.    Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

We look forward to Singin' and Dancin' with you from now until middle of February.   Get ready for a fun, hard working, crazy, silly, rehearsal process.   [Bring a pencil to every rehearsal]

See you NEXT WEEK!
