CYT Chicago: Lake Presents...

It’s small-town America in the 1960s, and the beloved Conrad Birdie has just been drafted. Fans everywhere are devastated, but none more than the struggling songwriter Albert Peterson whose song Birdie was just about to record. With all the tear-filled eyes turned to Birdie, Albert writes a new tune that Birdie will perform on television to the lucky contest winner: Kim MacAfee. The new song, “One Last Kiss,” is to be accompanied by its very name, a last kiss given by Conrad Birdie to his adoring fan. But, in the thrill of the excitement, no one counted on the fury of Kim’s jealous boyfriend.

Auditions will be held on March 1st.

Dear Cast of Bye Bye Birdie:
Thanks so much for auditioning for Bye Bye Birdie. We are so overwhelmed with all that we saw from you this weekend.
Your hard work was obvious in all you did. There may be some disappointments as you view the cast list, but know this is part of the process. We are praying and have been praying for the cast God would have for us to work with. Our spring rehearsal schedule is shorter than most, so be ready at the first rehearsal to work hard. Thanks for trusting us and working with us. This is going to be an amazing spring session.
Your Spring Directing Team
