Class Description

If you love to play with color, design & texture, grab your brush for this advanced makeup class. Create face maps for each character, using shadowing, feathering and layering, and create specialty techniques like scars, burns and tribal markings.

In previous years, CYT provided materials for makeup classes. However, due the pandemic, students are now required to bring their own kit to prevent cross-contamination. We encourage you to check what you have at home before you look into buying anything new. Most supplies can be bought cheaply from a variety of online and brick-and-mortar sources, except the Ben Nye Kit, which you can order here.
  • Ben Nye CYT kit (quad, base, powder)
  • variety of paint and/or makeup brushes
  • black eyeliner
  • brown eyeliner
  • black mascara
  • makeup sponges
  • highlighter or concealer about two shades two light for your skin
  • face wipes or baby wipes
  • bottle of white Elmer’s school glue (specifically Elmer's brand)
  • cotton balls
  • moisturizer or primer for face
  • face paint crayons or pods
  • eyeshadow palette of your favorite colors (browns, reds, blues)
During week 4, students will be asked to order a mustache on Amazon OR make one OR draw one to
wear during the Week 6 class on Facial Hair. Guys AND Gals!

Online classes will consist of 1 hour and 30 minutes of overall instructional time. This class will meet for 1 hour and 30 minutes of live instructional time once a week.

Teacher:

Misty Gorman

I have bachelor's degrees in both Elementary Education & Bible with a minor in music. When I am not being a mom to my four kids, I love teaching and directing. CYT has allowed me the opportunity to use my creative spirit and teach children how He can use their gifts for Him. This is my fourth year teaching for CYT and my 22nd year teaching. I am grateful for this opportunity!
