Class Description

The fundamentals of Jazz Dance are found in many other styles including Musical Theatre. Jazz dance often utilizes modern music and features syncopated movements, energetic choreography, and complex patterns, while Lyrical is a fluid, expressive dance form that blends ballet, jazz, and modern styles. Lyrical is often described as graceful, yet requires strength and control. Students will demonstrate the foundational elements of lyrical and jazz dance in a piece to be performed at the end of class Showcase performance.
