Description

Tap dance is a great way to learn skills like body control, balance, and rhythm! Tap dance numbers are often featured in rousing ensemble numbers in musicals. Tap can be challenging both physically and mentally, but is always tons of fun! In tap, you'll execute choreography featuring syncopated rhythmic combinations including time steps.

* Students are required to have tap shoes for the showcase performance. *

Makenzie Kolterman

Hi! My name is Makenzie Kolterman! I am a CYT Lake County Alumni and I'm so blessed to continue to be a part of CYT! I was a competitively trained, studio dancer from the ages of 7-14 until I left to join CYT at age 14. Since then I've taken multiple dance classes (including 3 years of Project Dance) and have had the privilege of being in 9 productions with CYT. Some of my favorite shows were The Great American Tall Tales, Singin' in the Rain and the Wizard of Oz!
