Lyrical is a fluid, expressive dance form that blends ballet, jazz, and modern styles. Lyrical Choreography is influenced by Ballet and is designed to connect to the music; it will interpret and express the lyrics, and match the energy of the song. Lyrical is often described as graceful, yet requires strength and control.
Hip Hop dance is a high-energy form utilizing upbeat music from many genres. Dancers will be challenged to improve their coordination, strength, precision, musicality, and style through technique and dance combinations. Constantly changing trends and music keep this form exciting and current for students at all levels.
Ru Jedidiah Heegaard
Hi, my name is Ru! I am twenty one and passionate in all the arts. I grew up dancing starting at age 5. I was dancing 20+ hours a week from 7th grade through high-school. I started teaching in high-school and have taught at a few different private studios before teaching at CYT. This is my second semester at CYT and I could not be more excited! Although I am just teaching dance right now, I do play four instruments as well and love all the arts.
