Description

Contemporary dance borrows heavily from both ballet and modern dance. As a middle ground between the  two, contemporary is characterized by use of strong technique as in ballet, alongside a freedom of movement and expression found in modern. This form has seen a sharp rise in popularity over the last decade and has emerged as a favorite among many American dancers.

Makenzie Kolterman

Hi! My name is Makenzie Kolterman! I am a CYT Lake County Alumni and I'm so blessed to continue to be a part of CYT! I was a competitively trained, studio dancer from the ages of 7-14 until I left to join CYT at age 14. Since then I've taken multiple dance classes (including 3 years of Project Dance) and have had the privilege of being in 9 productions with CYT. Some of my favorite shows were The Great American Tall Tales, Singin' in the Rain and the Wizard of Oz!
