Karen Gerold

Four years ago, my family was introduced to CYT and we fell in love with the program, the people and most importantly, the Mission. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, both from Purdue University. Music and theater have been passions of mine since high school and continued throughout college. While at Purdue, I participated in the Purdue Repertory Dance Company, the PMO Bell Choir, Purdue Symphonic Band, and the Lafayette Civic Theater. I also choreographed a high school show choir for six years, directed my home church’s children’s choir and bell choir. After college, I married the love of my life. We have two teenage children, one who is actively involved with CYT and has been in 9 productions. Over the last 20 years, I have been a vocalist with one of our church’s contemporary worship bands, directed a flute choir, directed several VBS programs, and served as a pre-school Sunday school teacher and superintendent. I also taught Kindermusik classes for three years when my son was a toddler. Currently I am directing my church bell choir and teaching the high school Sunday school class. I am excited for the opportunity to join the CYT Family!
