Description

Psalm 150 says, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!" That is exactly what we will do in this two-session audition class. Building on the foundation of dance as worship to the Giver of the gift, dancers will focus on using traditional and classical dance techniques and styles to help create a strong foundation for solid dance skills. 150: Dance Jr. is a class for young dancers with strong dance skills or a strong desire to study dance at a high level. Dancers will audition before the winter session and those chosen to be on the team need to commit to the winter and spring sessions. The showcase pieces will incorporate skills learned during class in the areas of classical ballet and other traditional dance styles, while challenging the dancers in the area of expression and performance.

  • 150 classes are a two-session commitment.
  • Participation in this class is through audition only.
  • There must be a minimum of 8 participants for this class to run.
Auditions will be held: November 6th at 6 (Check-in 5:45) at Bethel Lutheran Gurnee

Michelle Nagle

Michelle Nagle grew up with a passion for drama and music, taking ballet, lyrical, and jazz dance classes, learning how to play the piano and clarinet, and participating in her first musical theater production all before sixth grade. Beyond grade school and junior high, she continued to involve herself in the choir program at Saint Viator High School, leading to the opportunity to participate in their first ever Show Choir program. In 2023, Michelle graduated high school, having participated in over 20 theater productions. Michelle found CYT in 2016 by convincing her parents to let her take a class and immediately found a home-away-from-home. She participated in 17 shows and had the privilege of being part of the Project Voice team for two years and the Project Dance team for 2 years, both in NW Cook County. After graduating, she taught classes in McHenry and interned Kenosha/Lake's Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! Michelle has loved getting to be a part of CYT for so long, and cannot wait to continue her journey as a teacher!
