Discover how to channel energy and aggression into performing stunts while keeping yourself safe. Dance 4 for Teens - Ballet and Hip Hop (ages 12 - 18) Teacher: Andrew Mahan Ready for a challenge. This class will be sure to give your mind and your body a great workout! Be prepared for some major stylistic differences when it comes to learning both Ballet and Hip Hop in the same class. You''ll learn classical steps like glissades, assembles, pas de chevals, and tour jetes, followed by funky fresh steps from the latest Hip Hop fads! Ballet shoes and Gym shoes are required. (This class has been filled) Specialty 503: Prof. & College Audition Prep for Teens (ages 15 - 18) Teacher: Michelle Gottfred Are you thinking about making theatre your major in college? Do you plan on pursuing acting professionally? If you answered yes to either or both of this questions, then this class is essential for you. You will learn how to select songs and monologues that are right for you and what kind of material to avoid for college and professional auditions. By the end of this class, you should have four solid audition pieces either four contrasting monologues (contemporary, classical, comedic, and dramatic) or two contrasting monologues and two contrasting songs. We will workshop all of your pieces in class and evaluate and critique one another''s work. We will also discuss proper audition etiquette, what to expect at the URTA auditions, and how to prepare for a college or professional interview. |   | Voice 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12) Whether you sing in your church choir, along with Rock Band, or just in the shower, singing can be fun! Set the bar higher and strengthen your vocal technique with this 3 session vocal class. The goal of PC is to elevate the quality of vocal training in CYT by creating a community of dedicated students and teachers who want to use their talents to glorify God through the art form of various choral styles. You will continue challenging music from each session while adding in more pieces in preparation for performances, including their collaborative performance with Project Dance at the end of the year.

You will learn the techniques and tips that it takes to stand out, as well as the do''s and don''ts in an audition situation. For seasoned students, Project Dance is a 3 session progressive dance journey. Students will receive intense training in technique and raise the bar on their dance performance. The goal of PD is to elevate the quality of dance training in CYT by creating a community of dedicated students and teachers who want to use their talents to glorify God through the art form of various dance styles. Students are encouraged to attend a summer Project Dance Camp offering workshops and a dance concert.
