Wiggles & Giggles (ages 4 - 5)
   Teacher: Brittany Eder
Peanut performers will have a blast singing, dancing and moving for an hour of theater. Our youngest CYTers discover movement, performance confidence, music, and dancing while building creativity and imagination through games and activities.  This age group is not eligible to audition for the session production.  This is a one hour class.

Dance 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Robert Zavala
5, 6, 7, 8 It''s time to get up and dance! Step up to all the basic techniques that will prepare you to take on any form of dance.  Beyond the standard ballet positions you''ll learn how to chasse, channe, pirouette, kick, leap, and more.  Whether you want to learn Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Hip Hop, or Ballroom, this class will give you the foundation you’ll need to succeed.

Drama 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Kat McKeown
Become a character from head to toe. Explore the building blocks of acting through creative movement, story enactment, theater games, imagination journeys and more! You''ll be able to use your whole body, voice & facial expressions to portray everything from a swashbuckling pirate to a oompa loompa. Create your character from scratch and perform in scenes like Chronicles of Narnia, Treasure Island, Little Princess, Alice in Wonderland and more.

Musical Theater 1 for Kids (ages 9 - 12)
   Teacher: Christy Svoboda
Pre-requisite: 1 dance class, 1 drama class, 1 voice class
Let your creativity take flight through dance, drama and singing. Jump into the magical world of musical theater by exploring dance choreography, vocal technique and how to portray a character. Become a triple threat through warm-ups, group activities, theater games and performance. By the end of class, you’ll be ready to take center stage and shine as one of the show-stoppers in the showcase!

    

Our Gang 1 (ages 6 - 7)
   Teacher: Victoria Gorman
Let your imagination take flight into the world of theater through song, music and dance. The fun never stops in Our Gang and includes theater basics while learning the foundations of performing in a safe, encouraging environment. We also take time for fun with games and crafts. Let your child take the spotlight!

Voice 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Dawn Bauman
Whether you sing in your church choir, along with Rock Band, or just in the shower, singing can be fun!  Learn how to put those pipes to use with good technique and style. In this interactive class students will learn the fundamental concepts and training of the voice. Learn proper posture and breathing techniques, phrasing and how to stay on pitch.

Specialty 501 - Audition Workshop for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Linda Dzialo
Let''s face it.  Auditions can be scary.  We all get that feeling in the pit of our stomach right before we walk into the audition room. But if you''re prepared and well-rehearsed, auditioning can be fun! Come join our team as we learn how to pick audition pieces that are perfect for us and how to shape those pieces into unforgettable performances.  You will learn the techniques and tips that it takes to stand out, as well as the do''s and don''ts in an audition situation.  After this class, you''ll be much more confident and prepared, so get ready to knock em dead!

Musical Theater 2 for Kids (ages 9 - 12)
   Teacher: Brittany Eder
Pre-requisite: 1 musical theater class, or 3 classes of dance, drama or voice
Take your singing, dancing and acting skills to the next level and be challenged while having a blast! Musical Theater II will explore a variety of popular styles in musical theater. Learn how to capture your audience when you sing a breathtaking ballad and how to keep your energy high while dancing in a big toe-tapping number. Everyone will get a chance to shine in high-energy small group numbers as well as show-stoppin’ ensemble numbers in our dynamic end-of-session showcase!

Drama 1 for Teens (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Linda Dzialo
Jump into the world of acting & drama. Build the foundation of all theatrical performances by learning how to build a character and approach a scene. You''ll also delve into the history of theater and trace it''s roots to modern day plays. Whether you''re portraying Miley Cyrus or Abraham Lincoln, every student will be prepared to act like a character!

Dance 2 for Jazz/Tap for Teens (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Robert Zavala
Alright, dancers it''s time to leap through Broadway''s most popular forms of dance: Jazz and Tap. Kick up your knowledge of dance as you master more intermediate steps—all the while strengthening your foundation in basic technique.  Learn how to do drags, pencil turns, fan kicks, toe touches, paradiddles, riffs, pull backs, maxi-fords, and much, much more.  This class will have a major focus on style as we will explore the differences between classic and contemporary and everything in between.  Jazz and Tap shoes are required.

Dance 10 for Teens: Project Dance (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Anna Greeno
Pre-requisite: 2 dance classes & audition
For seasoned students, Project Dance is a 3 session progressive dance journey. Students will receive intense training in technique and raise the bar on their dance performance.  The goal of PD is to elevate the quality of dance training in CYT by creating a community of dedicated students and teachers who want to use their talents to glorify God through the art form of various dance styles.  Students are encouraged to attend a summer Project Dance Camp offering workshops and a dance concert.
This is an audition only class.  You must register for a second choice.  You will be enrolled in your second choice class and switched to Project Dance after auditions.

    

Musical Theater 1 for Teens (ages 12 - 18)

This class will help strengthen you as an actor, singer, and dancer while developing the confidence you need to succeed. We''ll dive into some of your favorite musicals and tackle the numbers that you''ve just been dying to perform. You''ll learn new techniques that will sharpen your skills, help you stand out at your next audition, and give you the confidence you need to take the spotlight.

Voice 2 for Teens (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Dawn Bauman
Pre-requisite: 1 voice class & 1 musical theater class
Challenge yourself with this higher level of vocal instruction. You will explore developing your character through song with staying true to your vocal technique.

Project Dance Prep for Teens (ages 12 - 18) Pre-requisite: 2 dance classes
Alright, so you know basic dance technique but you want to spice it up a bit? Then this is the class for you!  Offered multiple times throughout the year, the focus of this class will change from session to session.  We will offer specific forms of dance that you don''t see every day.
