Wiggles & Giggles (ages 4 - 5)
   Teacher: Natalie Barlow
Peanut performers will have a blast singing, dancing and moving for an hour of theater. Our youngest CYTers discover movement, performance confidence, music, and dancing while building creativity and imagination through games and activities.  This age group is not eligible to audition for the session production.  This is a one hour class.

Dance 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Alli Selvey
5, 6, 7, 8 It''s time to get up and dance! Step up to all the basic techniques that will prepare you to take on any form of dance.  Beyond the standard ballet positions you''ll learn how to chasse, channe, pirouette, kick, leap, and more.  Whether you want to learn Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Tap, Hip Hop, or Ballroom, this class will give you the foundation you’ll need to succeed.

Musical Theater 2 for Teens (NAP) (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Lauren Fijol
Pre-requisite: 2 Classes in Dance, Drama, Voice or Musical Theater
Don''t miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity to sharpen your skills as a versatile actor, singer, and dancer. Get insight on musical theatre through the years and the differences between specific styles of shows and then showcase those differences in a variety of musical numbers and scenes. Gain new confidence, energy and emotional honesty while perfecting your performance technique. Explore solos, duets, small group scenes, and large ensemble numbers from a variety of genres. Get ready to broaden your horizons as a triple threat.

Let your imagination take flight into the world of theater through song, music and dance. The fun never stops in Our Gang and includes theater basics while learning the foundations of performing in a safe, encouraging environment. We also take time for fun with games and crafts. Specialty 501 - Audition Workshop for Kids (ages 8 - 12)

Let''s face it.  Auditions can be scary.  We all get that feeling in the pit of our stomach right before we walk into the audition room. But if you''re prepared and well-rehearsed, auditioning can be fun! Come join our team as we learn how to pick audition pieces that are perfect for us and how to shape those pieces into unforgettable performances.  You will learn the techniques and tips that it takes to stand out, as well as the do''s and don''ts in an audition situation.  After this class, you''ll be much more confident and prepared, so get ready to knock em dead!

Musical Theater 2 for Kids (ages 9 - 12)
   Teacher: Rachel Waterman
Pre-requisite: 1 musical theater class, or 3 classes of dance, drama or voice
Take your singing, dancing and acting skills to the next level and be challenged while having a blast! Musical Theater II will explore a variety of popular styles in musical theater. Learn how to capture your audience when you sing a breathtaking ballad and how to keep your energy high while dancing in a big toe-tapping number. Everyone will get a chance to shine in high-energy small group numbers as well as show-stoppin’ ensemble numbers in our dynamic end-of-session showcase!

    

Voice 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Alli Selvey
Whether you sing in your church choir, along with Rock Band, or just in the shower, singing can be fun!  Learn how to put those pipes to use with good technique and style. In this interactive class students will learn the fundamental concepts and training of the voice. Learn proper posture and breathing techniques, phrasing and how to stay on pitch.

Drama 3 for Kids/Teens - One Act (ages 10 - 14)
   Teacher: Erika Bandemer
Pre-requisite: 2 drama or musical theater classes & audition
Expand your characterization and delve deeper into the world of acting.  Discover how to create a dynamic character and bring the story alive.  Using improv, drama games, and open scenes, students will learn how to find a character arc, incorporate environment, make strong creative choices and use sensory recall in creative believable scenes. All will present a one act production at the end of the session using their new skills.

Dance 3 for Teens - Lyrical and Modern (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Jennifer Heim
Explore two of the most popular forms of dance: Lyrical and Modern.  You will be stretched and challenged in this class as we continue to expand our knowledge and ability.  Your creativity through dance will help us focus on technique, strength, control, flexibility, musicality, and style.  Another emphasis of the class will be exploring the interpretation of a piece on an emotional level.  We will spend a lot of time both on the ground and in the air; so get ready to let go!  No shoes are required as we will be barefoot.  Lyrical Sandals or Paws are optional for Lyrical.

    

Drama 7 for Teens - Scene Study (ages 12 - 18)
   Teacher: Rachel Waterman
Pre-requisite 3 drama classes
Challenge yourself and your acting repertoire with this scene study class. Designed to prepare students to audition & perform in a Drama 10 Production, you''ll be stretched and strengthened from all angles.  Immerse yourself in a acting from character analysis to physicality.  Practice and perfect cold reading techniques and discover how to engage your creativity. Discover how to analyze a scene and engage your senses in performing. Rehearse and perform scenes from a variety of classic theater and modern scripts.

Musical Theater 1 for Kids (ages 8 - 12)
   Teacher: Maggie McNamara
Pre-requisite: 1 dance class, 1 drama class, 1 voice class
Let your creativity take flight through dance, drama and singing. Jump into the magical world of musical theater by exploring dance choreography, vocal technique and how to portray a character. Become a triple threat through warm-ups, group activities, theater games and performance. By the end of class, you’ll be ready to take center stage and shine as one of the show-stoppers in the showcase!

Dance 4 for Teens - Ballet and Hip Hop (ages 12 - 18) Ready for a challenge.  This class will be sure to give your mind and your body a great workout!  Be prepared for some major stylistic differences when it comes to learning both Ballet and Hip Hop in the same class.  You''ll learn classical steps like glissades, assembles, pas de chevals, and tour jetes, followed by funky fresh steps from the latest Hip Hop fads! Ballet shoes and Gym shoes are required.

    

Comedy 1 for Kids (ages 9 - 13)
   Teacher: Julie Nott
Whether you feel like you are a natural comedian or enjoy telling puns, embark on the rules of comedy.  Come play with us as we learn what makes something funny on stage…and what doesn’t.  Learn the classic bits and gags and how to execute them.  Experiment with a variety of comic characters, discover your individual attributes and strengths, and create your own unique repertoire of characters within the context of various comedic monologues.  So come join the club, and let’s “make ‘em laugh”.
